This is an editing intensive run over TWO WEDNESDAY EVENINGS on Zoom

Wednesday 24th May 2022 - 7pm-9pm

Wednesday 31st May 2023 - 7pm-9pm

Week 1 - Spit

Bring and share your song in front of a small group online. Receive group feedback as well as feedback from facilitators with notes for you to take away and work on your songs. We'll be looking out for structure, timing, rhythm, rhyme schemes, editing your work, performance, creating a GOOD HOOK, key and the lift into the chorus! Each of you in the group will have the chance to give positive feedback and then your group facilitators will give constructive feedback for possible changes the would like to see happen for the polish session.

Week 2 - Polish

Bring and share your REWORKED pieces for further comment and feedback.

Your Group Facilitators

Rose Parker is a prolific and magical songwriter weaving words and images to blanket your soul, with a voice that moves from folk whisperer to gospel belter. Formally one half of the Velvet Janes, she has toured from Sydney to San Francisco, played many an international festival as well as writing, releasing and producing three eps and three albums. Rose’s songwriting session at the retreat will explore inspiration sources, creative output and flow, song structure, finding the hook, the importance of editing, and ways to deal with writer's block. You will also get a chance to write one-on-one will Rose!

Delilah Rose is Songwriter. Mama. Gatherer. Optimist. Listener. Storyteller. The only rule - there are NO DISCLAIMERS.

We all enter the Zoom Room with the understanding that this is a SAFE SPACE where early works can be shared, changed, deliberated over and massaged into the best form possible.

Nothing prepares you for performance other than just doing it.

Done is better than perfect.

The only thing that will happen if you keep writing songs, is you'll get better.

What have you got to lose.
